How We Began

Dr. Raymond W. Brandt, an identical twin whose twin was killed July 5, 1949, at age 20, rediscovered his twinship in 1985 when he attended the International Twins Convention. Dr. Brandt struggled all those years: Was he still a twin? He discovered that "once a twin, always a twin."

Through this joy he immediately turned to helping other twinless twins. In 1986 he founded the Twinless Twins Support Group, International. Since there are no boundaries to twinships (twins are the same everywhere), members gather in all countries.

Dr. Brandt was very open with his twin family about his fight with cancer. He suffered with cancer for several years, and in June, 2001, he lost his battle. He was a special man, and we miss him greatly. The Board of Directors, Regional Coordinators, and members of Twinless Twins are determined to carry on his work as we know he would want us to do.

What We're Doing

Twinless Twins Support Group is expanding its resources as time and finances permit. To date, we have 10 Regional Coordinators who plan regional gatherings and events throughout the year. We also have 4 affiliate Directors in Canada, Australia, and the U.K. Our main office is in Ypsilanti, MI. We rely on the generous contributions of our members and friends to keep growing!
